About The Sisters

If the Sisters come to your town, they are there for 2 reasons:

1. To put on a show
2. To kick some supernatural ass !

The Sisters Of The Sapphire are six artistic, influential, magic wielding soldier-type females: Femasiria, Euphoria, Saqqara, Pandora, Chandria and Angelina.

As agents of The Apollo X Foundation, these “Sisters” are modern-day warriors against the supernatural; In other words, they’re demon hunters, vampire slayers, alien eradicators – whatever you want to call them; although otherwise they’re just ordinary young women in their twenties. Each member of the Sisters serves for 5 years after which she is replaced. The replacing member takes the name of the former Sister.

Apollo X Foundation

SOS Headquarters – Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

The Sisters came from Europe to America in 1912. After a lot of moving around, Apollo eventually purchased a hotel/casino in Las Vegas where he established a permanent residence for the Sisters – the Sisters of the Sapphire Headquarters – in 1950.

For most of history, the Sisters had moved freely about Europe, Africa, and Asia without much of a problem. And even in the U.S., prior to WW II, there was little if any trouble doing what they had been established to do. This was mainly because the supernatural (and aliens) kept themselves shrouded in as much darkness and secrecy as possible, which was easy because of communication from country to country, or even person to person, was far less extent, not to mention extremely slow. No matter what country it was, for the most part, the people as a whole simply didn’t know what was going on outside the ordinary.

Apollo

By the time of the Battle of Troy, humans had all but lost interest in the gods, having arrived at a place where they felt they no longer needed to have such entities around to control their fates. Hurt and dejected, the gods retreated from Olympus and scattered themselves amongst the heavens. Of the original Olympians, Apollo was one of three who remained on earth. (The other two was Hades – who didn’t actually remain on earth, so to speak, but made his permanent home in the Underworld – and Poseidon, who decided that the deep sea would forever be his abode.) Apollo hung around to keep watch over the Sisters since Hades and Carnivean were still a major threat to all humans.

Because Apollo was a god, he could never die, so throughout the centuries he has disguised himself as a merchant, seaman, banker, musician, magician, politician, businessman and everything in-between, always hiding the fact that like all the gods during the early days of earth he was an immortal who dwelt among mortals. But he did it simply to manage the activities of the Sisters of the Sapphire and help keep the evil of Carnivean and those like him at bay.

The Seeker

The Seeker

Apollo knew that for the newly created Sisters of the Sapphire, losing members was always a possibility. The task of protecting Hecate’s magickal stone was not an easy one, and Hades did not play fair. Hence, as soon as the group was christened, a man was chosen to seek replacements as well. The first Seeker was an elderly Greek former slave of African descent named Alexius. And not even a year later did he have to do his job for the first time, which was to replace Saqqara, who was mortally wounded while battling zombies.

But Alexius did not remain a seeker for long, for he had fallen in love with the nymph Angelina. Therefore he quit because he could not bear the thought of having to someday replace her after death, too. But his story had a happy ending. Angelina returned his love, and consequently quit being a Sister to become his wife.

Again Apollo chose a man of African descent to be Alexius’ replacement. The new Seeker remained with the Sisters for over 20 years.

With the exception of Alexius, The Seekers have been elderly men of mystery. Never did the Sisters know anything about them; who they were, where they came from, what they did in their free time, etc. The Seekers never involve themselves in the affairs of Apollo or the Sisters. The Seekers’ job is to travel the world seeking suitable replacements for departing Sisters. Whenever someone is needed, they will go to a girl whom they have previously marked as a good candidate, recruit her, and then go back out to seek and qualify others for when the next time a girl would be needed.

It was their way.

For Sisters did not remain forever; there would always be the necessity of another girl.

Dion

Dion

Chandria happened upon the first Dion as he was attempting to bring down a mother dragon. Chandria intervened. The two fell in love, although it was not their fate to marry (as a dragon-faerie, Chandria could never bear children with a human, and besides, unlike Angelina, who later left to marry the first Seeker, she was dedicated to her service as a protector of the sapphire). Dion became a close friend of the Sisters and many times fought by their side against their enemies. He was eventually killed by Carnivean, but Apollo had liked the idea of the Sisters having an extra partner – and a male one at that. So he found another young man to replace Dion (who, like the women who became Sisters, also took on the predecessor’s name) and always did so whenever a Dion quit or died. Centuries later, when the Sisters formed themselves into a female singing group, taking on the name Sapphyria, all new Dions became members of their backup band or road crew.

Every Dion was human and was never granted any of the special powers available to the Sisters by Hecate’s sapphire; hence, their chances of survival against Carnivean and his minions were always extremely risky at best. But every young man who ever filled the position seemed to take on the responsibility with great courage and dedication, ever standing as a true friend and companion of the Sisters of the Sapphire.

Jaden

Jaden

There had been no one named Jaden as a team member until The Vietnamese War. The Seeker had to replace the Sister called Euphoria. The Seeker was fortunate enough to find a nineteen year old Southern girl who appeared to have the necessary attributes for a good Sister. She was an orphan, made so by drugs that claimed her father and an automobile accident that claimed her mother. However, there was a problem. She also had a twin brother.

As if by fate, at the same time The Seeker was about to recruit her, her brother, a young soldier in the war, was returning home, having been seriously crippled by a grenade explosion.

Not willing to separate from her brother, mainly because she knew the young man now needed someone to look after him on top of each being the only family the other had, the girl told Apollo she would accept being Euphoria only with the condition that wherever she went, her brother did also. After some consideration, Apollo approved and, like Dion, Jaden became another friend and constant companion of the Sisters from that point on.

As he would do with Dion, Apollo replaced Jaden whenever a new one was needed, the replacement always being a young black male who would become part of the Sapphyria road team. And just like the Dions, never has a Jaden been slow in picking up a weapon and standing beside the Sisters as an ally in their continuing struggle against Carnivean et.al. – even as a cripple.

Francis “Frankie” Miles

Francis “Frankie” Miles

The teenage sister of the current Dion, Frankie is a sophomore at The University of Nevada at Las Vegas.

That’s right – she finished high school at age 14, and is now in college.

Being a young Mensa member with an IQ of 160, she could have attended any college she desired, and indeed had even been accepted at the triple titans: Yale, Harvard and MIT, but chose to remain close to her only family – her brother.

Unlike with the Sisters, The Seeker, Dion, Jaden or even The Cleaner, Apollo cannot ever “replace” her with another “Frankie.”

Frankie is a wiz in math, science and technology. At 7, she built a robot which won first place in an international robotics consite! Likewise, her projects have won high ranks in every science fair and competition she’s ever entered. Some of Frankie’s loves and hobbies include computer programming, animals, martial arts, soccer, singing, and playing the guitar. When she’s not taking classes, she helps Apollo track down Supernaturals at SOS headquarters in the Apollo Hotel & Casino, as well as any other task she can do to help out the Sisters (without actually battling the Supernaturals herself).

But honestly, battling Supernaturals is something she’d like to do! Strange as it may sound, despite her intelligence her ultimate dream is to become a Sister of the Sapphire when she is old enough to be chosen by The Seeker.

The Cleaner

The Cleaner

There is a reason why vampires, werewolves and other monster types do not normally attack in the middle of downtown in broad daylight, or go to the mall to feed on people as they shop. That reason: once the people – en masse – know that the monsters exist, they will mount up a defense en masse to seek them out and destroy them – sort of like you saw at the end of the early Frankenstein movies (remember those?) when the townsfolk would gather together as a ragtag posse with hoes and pitchforks, or what was done during the Salem witch hunts. The monsters certainly don’t want that!

Apollo and the Sisters (and other slayer types, like Buffy – the Vampire Slayer, Blade and The Charmed Ones) do not want people banding together to hunt monsters either. The reason is because such actions are generally fundamentally based on hysteria, which can be just as dangerous as the creatures themselves.

The answer to that problem is to try to keep encounters and battles with Supernaturals as much from the public eye as possible. But, oh, if the Sisters could only have the monsters’, vampires’ and demons’ carcasses “vanish” or become ash when they are killed (like they do for Buffy, Blade and The Charmed Ones – how convenient is that!?) To help keep the public from finding out that a supernatural or other kind of monster-type was killed, the Sisters call “The Cleaner” to remove the carcasses and dispose of them, as well as clean up any other tale-tell signs of such creatures’ existence, if possible.

Morgan is the current Cleaner, and at times chauffeur and basic oddjob man, of the Sisters. Whether it’s a horde of zombies or a single werewolf in the middle of the forest, it is Morgan’s job to get rid of the evidence before the unwary public stumbles upon them (much like a serial killer concealing his crimes).

Morgan is a single, heavy, friendly, happy-go-lucky kind of guy whom the Sisters like very much. Morgan loves football (so much so that he can name every significant player on every team of the NFL, and he dominates fantasy football leagues), likes to throw parties and have backyard barbecues for his friends, goes to church, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who asks. The kind of guy everybody can love – and take advantage of.

But his friends haven’t the foggiest of what he does for a living. (If they did, they’d probably quit being his friends!)

Like the Sisters, The Seeker, Dion and Jaden, Apollo replaces Cleaners when the need arises. New Cleaners do not change their names. (The full name of Morgan is Morgan Freebender. The Cleaner before him was Albert Andraka – whom everyone called Al.) Unlike The Seekers, The Cleaners are not mysterious; and they do their best to live normal lives, despite the work that they are called upon to do.

(A Few) Enemies Of The Sisters

Carnivean
The Illicit Six
Moebius
Helois
Carnivean

Carnivean

The numero uno nemesis of the Sisters, Carnivean was originally created by Hades for the purpose of getting close enough to Hecate – Goddess of Magic & Witchcraft – to kidnap and bring to Hades. At the time, Hades desired Hecate and the power of her marvelous magic, but Hecate could smell him coming a mile away. So, in order to get her he needed someone she would not run from; someone human enough to get close, yet invulnerable to her magic. Pulling a severely damned soul from the pit of Hell and giving him immortality and a thirst for human blood, Carnivean was the first vampire (but certainly not the last) ever created. And what a supernatural evil Carnivean turned out to be. How quickly he succeeded in his mission!

After Hecate was rescued by the combined efforts of Femasiria, Saqqara, Euphoria, Chandria, Angelina and Pandora, Hades learned that before her capture, Hecate had transferred a great portion of her magic into a large gem. (But Zeus and Apollo had commissioned the Sisters to forever protect it). Now Carnivean had a new mission: get the gem by any means necessary.

From that day to this, Carnivean has been attempting to fulfill that mission, using both natural and supernatural means to obtain that end – unquestionably a never-ceasing royal pain in the ass for the Sisters of the Sapphire.

The Illicit Six

The Illicit Six

The Illicit Six are the six Wiccan children fathered by Carnivean with the sorceress Llorona.

They are three warlocks . . .

Hernschild ~ The Air Warlock (Can control wind and create vacuums)
Abramelin ~ The Death Warlock (Has the ability to manipulate death and life, i.e. can make golems; carries life scrolls to make any statue he finds a golem. He’s not a Gothic type, but more like an artist.)
Rincewind ~ The Spark Warlock (Can control electricity, lightning, and cause EMP bursts)

. . . and three witches . . .

Prospero ~ The Water Witch (Can control water, ice or steam. She could also be called a steampunk witch because she’s able to animate contraptions through her manipulation of steam.)
Glenda ~ The Fire Witch (Has total control of heat and fire)
Medea ~ The Earth Witch (Can control much of the earthly elements)

Because they have Carnivean’s blood, they are also immortal.

Like their father, they, too, are serious pains in the ass for the Sisters, and like the Sisters, they, too, are on a search for the missing ruby ring called the Oracle of Wicca, which they believe rightfully belongs to them since it was their mother’s – and briefly owned by Prospero, the eldest daughter. Prospero lost the Oracle during a battle with the Sisters (Femasiria in particular) when she fell off a cliff into the sea and the mermaid Selina attempted to take it from her. For a brief moment Prospero fought with Selina underwater. Being a water witch, she froze Selina within the seawater, but just when Prospero thought she had the ring again, a shark came by and bit off the mermaid’s hand – the hand holding the Oracle – and swam away before Prospero could stop it!

Prospero never saw the Oracle again after that, but she and her siblings are forever dedicated to finding it, never to ever lose it again once they do!

Moebius

Moebius

Moebius is the epitome of the mad scientist. The great-grandson of a former Nazi scientist, Moebius is a research doctor that once worked for the CDC and thus is the creator of a serum that can cause a human to convert into a monster at will. Moebius is always working on his serum – testing it, improving it, perfecting it. Hence, the Sisters (as well as the Paranormal Strike Force) seem to always be fighting newly created creatures of his doing.

Like his great-grandfather, grandfather and father, Moebius is an avid admirer of Hitler and would love to see the world reformed as Hitler had envisioned it. Moebius believes that if he can build an army of zombies, he could start WW III – but this time the armies of the world would be defeated before the battles began because his zombie serum would incapacitate anyone who drank it. His plan would be to pour it into the reservoirs and water systems of every major city and let fate do the rest. (Hence, welcome to what would be the start of “The Walking Dead”!)

The Sisters and the PSF have been the only ones to stop him for the last twenty years, but sooner or later he will find a way to circumvent them, and then . . .

Helois

Helois

Years ago, a young woman was chosen by The Seeker to become the new Euphoria. Envious of this, her best friend, Lois Graham – who was also secretly in love with her – visited Apollo to beseech him to take her as a Sister, too. But Apollo turned Lois away, explaining that only if a woman is selected by The Seeker could she become a Sister of the Sapphire.

Though heartbroken, that wasn’t the end of Lois’ story. Lois was later approached by Carnivean, who told her that he could convince Apollo to accept her. She only had to do one thing . . .

. . . sell her soul to Hades.

Without seriously considering what she was doing she accepted (she felt she was too much in love with Euphoria not to), and the delighted Hades rewarded her by turning her into a “hell-man” – a human who becomes a demon without first experiencing death. As if to spite both her and Euphoria, he made this hell-man the evil opposite of Euphoria, with metal-studded whip included!

Needless to say, Lois lost all love she ever had for Euphoria. Hence, Lois Graham became Helois, an extremely formidable foe – with a particularly hellish desire to destroy Euphoria . . . any Euphoria!

It was the Paranormal Strike Force (PSF) that eventually brought Helois into captivity.

But that doesn’t mean that she’ll always remain captured.
